Oliver Sacks even reviewed this book. This makes it an item on my reading list that I will have to untangle. Sacks said:
As a neurologist, confronted every day by questions of mind, self, consciousness, and their basis, I find Alva Noë's concepts both astounding and convincing. (Oliver Sacks)
As one who is fascinated by the way art and life intersect, this looks like a good, albeit heavy, read. It is the flip side of the recent push to justify the art experience through brain research. Looking for the non-quantifiable soul. If Sacks thinks Noe presents a convincing theory, I would bet it would convince me, too.
What will you make today?
