Getting there. Worked on preparing materials for this weekend’s Quilters’ Connection workshop only to learn that it might not happen due to not having a venue and having a smaller group than anticipated. I’m disappointed as I’ve planned around it, and thought initially that having the workshop after the talk might be a good idea as people might need to see the quilts first. They haven’t gotten out much on their own lately! So, maybe a delay in the date might be a good solution. I should find out today. Never a dull moment.
I am hungry for art time with good health. My projects are not getting physical attention, though in my mind they are getting developed for sure. I am thinking of ways of combining the printed panels and working with shaped pieces again. Hand stitching. Machine stitching. Painting. And Beads. Lots of beads. Seeing fringe and edges. Mojo textures. I keep telling myself I just have to show up to my art room and the art just happens (which it does.) Being sick and busy keeps me from getting there, though. I am physically finished by seven at night this week it seems, leaving little time for anything else. With all the prednisone I’m taking I thought I’d be up all hours of the night vacuuming or something, but it isn’t happening! I am still getting up several times a night to go to the bathroom, joy of joys, but the energy and alertness is not there to keep me up in the wee hours of dawn. Trying to practice patience in all areas of life right now. It isn’t easy!
For an art link today, here is Zara Merrick’s amazing textile reliefs that made me really smile last night. What incredible detail! The forms are perfect and this artist really knows her feathrees. I love the playful color interpretation, too. Gorgous work! Off to the races! Cheers.
