Part of the nesting phase is listening to books. My favorite genre is mystery, from the UK. Stories that engage the mind while working. My domestic favorite, hands down, is Stephen King. He is the master storyteller able to conjure up plots and characters that could truly exist in America, specifically New England. I think of him like a contemporary Mark Twain. Today his latest book of short stories is out: The Bazaar of Bad Dreams. Guaranteed excellent. Yesterday I downloaded Elizabeth George's latest Lynley mystery, A Banquet of Consequences, which is a twenty one hour volume. I usually love her books as the characters are amazing and the plots are full of surprises. The narrator of this audio book is terrible, though, so I now face twenty hours of annoyance. He trills his "r's" and sounds like a pompous stage performer. I still will listen though as the story of Inspector Lynley and Barbara Havers must go on.
A grateful thought for the day -- this time last year there was snow on the ground. Today it will be in the 60's with no inclement weather in sight. Cheers to that!
