Mother's Day, a day of remembrance and appreciation for the role of moms. I joke about having ten "kids" but truly know the difference between pets and kids, even if the pets talk back and bite their moms. There is a comparison, maybe, but there is a huge difference. Cheers to Moms out there for taking the ultimate challenge of raising a person! That being said, I have to get going on making pumpkin muffins for the birds today -- they love them and need the nutrition. I've slacked off a bit in the cooking department lately and know I can do better with their nutrition. Today will be a busy one.
I don't have much thought this morning about art, as the to-do list looms, but Facebook reminded me of what I posted six years ago and I can' not believe so much time has passed. This picture is of Kizzy when he was a baby, under a year old, after his big hospital stay to cure him of the infection that he came to me with. He was one sick baby bird. At one point he couldn't hold himself up and we honestly almost lost him. Through careful work by Carol, medication, perseverance through relapses, and loads of handfeeding for the next eight months, he is the big goofy beast he is today. He is one beautiful, funny, and overall well tempered bird despite his rocky start. My beautiful boy! Ok, that sounds like a parent talking. Sorry! maybe there are more similarities between pets and babies after all. Cheers.
