Yesterday was a beautiful spring day filled with sunshine and warm temps. Just gorgeous. This morning looks like rain, but that is okay as I am off for my second dose of RA med today. At least it is quicker than the first dose, though I am a wee bit nervous about the reaction I had after the last one. C'mon body, love this medicine as it can do wonders. It is hard to be doing so much every day to combat a stupid disease like RA in terms of meds and still not be free from it. End of complaint.
Today I hope to set up my ink tanks and print some fabulous fabric in preparation for the upcoming class at Create Artisan Studio. We are starting a new textile class on Thursday featuring a truly mixed media approach. Fabric painting, stamping, drawing, and computer printing, then collage and attaching techniques. The people in this class are so creative and fun I can't wait to see what they make! A couple spots are still open should anyone out there be interested. Judy, my only reader, I know you are!! (LOL!)
Hapi let himself out of his cage this morning and very politely waited for me to figure it out. He didn't eat a keyboard, woodwork, or bother any other bird. I am so grateful.
For artistic interest, here is a haunting set of photographs by Russian artist Jegor Zaika via Hyperallergic.com. They are of the modern state of Holocaust places. Seemingly calm, serene, and ordinary, the locations have histories that are anything but that. Eerie in their context, not in their content. The viewer superimposes their own knowledge of the sites, times, and events on top of mundane images to create an internal disconnect that is jarring. Creepy stuff.
What will you make today?
