Last night I went to AC Moore to get fabric for my students' digital fabric prints. Get this -- each roll of cloth costs $24.99. I needed 2. I bought a $50 gift card first, which earned an extra $10 gift card. Then, the nice cashier let me pay for each item separately and use a 50% coupon on each item. The net result is that I paid $12 out of pocket for two rolls of fabric instead of $50. Viva the cheapster art teacher shopper! It is a pain to deal with all those coupons, but it keeps artistic happenings alive in my art room if I do so.
Last night I scanned a bag of slides. Great stuff. Native American Kachinas, pottery, figures, and more. Really beautiful things...that might need embroidery. Maybe I can practice machine embroidery by using these images as foundations. Hmmmm....more fabric needed! Glad I can make my own and print on anything I have. I like the rolls that I bought for class, but when playing in my studio it is nice to have variety. So much art to make, so little time! Guess the tide turning isn't so bad after all. Cheers.
