Last night was apparently busy, too. My cats had a viscious argument night before last and spent a day growling and screaming at each other like Wild Things. They have since calmed down a bit, but are sniffing around like I have a new cat in the house that I know nothing about. I read that cats can get confused if they are startled by something, and I did find a heavy rolled up rug on the floor that fell...maybe it woke them and they thought "the other guy did it." Sudden startling like that can make cats that usually love each other see each other as "strange," and they have to re-acquaint themselves to each other again. Oh, fun. Maybe the missing leftover catnip bag is involved, too...?
And we can't forget Toby, my pee artist. The cats like to throw things off my work tables as they sleep on them. I had a full bolt of water soluble stabilizer on my table, but found it on the floor this morning, leaning upright, You guessed it, Toby experimented with the stabilizer more than I have by "painting" a big section of it, dissolving all of the layers down to the cardboard core with something other than water. So much for that. I tried to find artistic merit in his composition, but found none. Oh, Toby...oh Toby.
For today's link, I'm sharing a neat little blog site called "Feeling Stitchy." It has a collection of interviews and articles about stitchy things. I haven't delved into it too much, but did like the pug embroidery I saw there! I bet that one stays in the hoop and doesn't destroy stabilizer.
Well, off to run for another day. Despite the fact that snow is expected on Sunday night, I just heard quacking and honking from outside -- "my" backyard ducks have returned!!!! They always make themselves known around this time, usually on Easter, baking a loud entrance. This has been happening since I was a little kid. I am not always here to hear it. The sound is unmistakable. They live in the swampy area behind my house, and some years I see them, some years I only hear them. I hope this is a year that I can watch babies grow up on the edge of my yard. Looks like it is spring!
