Who knows what future inventive artists, engineers, entrepreneurs, and creative inventors are sitting in my classroom today? Exponentially more creative and exciting!

Neat article today linking embroidery to graffiti. Artist Teresa Paschke embroiders photos that she prints on fabric. She makes interesting connections between tradition and culture through her choice of using the embroidery medium to "tag" environments that appear in her photos. I like the marks that seem to have spontaneously appeared in the still, everyday environments. I like the lines -- suggestive of Klee and the side of a city train. This art is inspiring!! I like the interplay between the known and the unknown, the seen and the imprint the artist leaves on the found environment. Hmmmmm... Embellished images of Reading coming soon? Capturing my memories and experiences of living here for so long? Going through photos of meaningful places and adding my memories to them in text and symbol form? So many new directions to explore! I love how another artist's work can light a flare for a new creative direction. I want to get into embroidering on photos. But with more fabric elements, too. I see a new light at the end of the tunnel...again. Thanks. Teresa, for inspiration! I wish I could work right now -- but I also am happy to go to school and get my kids excited about drawing. Who knows what future inventive artists, engineers, entrepreneurs, and creative inventors are sitting in my classroom today? Exponentially more creative and exciting! What will you make today?
