I have grown to like the feel and look of the iMac monitor, too -- makes my HP feel like a dull cave wall! The last thing I want to do right now is add more equipment to my over-stuffed home, or have to learn the ins and outs of a new program, though. I might give a trial of photoshop a whirl on my pc and keep my eye out for a used iMac as a backup, Would be nice to know both programs more fluently.
Soaked up a bit more of summer last night by hauling butt up to Hampton for the fireworks. Kizzy in tow. Gorgeous night. Beautiful, shimmering, pastel sunset on my happy ocean. We sat on the sand and even stretched out, looking up at the stars and listening to the ocean and beach people sounds mingle. Kizzy was a great bird, again. I look forward to a time in my life when I can spend more time with him, out of a cage, and just hanging out with me. He has such an amazing personality for a bird -- I struck divine gold with this one. When I think of what could have happened had a different personality found me...so grateful to have my little boy.
It is fun to share him with others, too -- little kids come up with huge eyes wanting to pat him, and I let them pat his tail or tickle their nose with it. Lots of bird discussion (there are a lot of bird people out there!) And, the smiles. People just smile when they see this fella. In a world like the one we live in, it is nice to share smiles. Simple as that.
Got to bed late last night and am up early today, heading into the city for another day of selfish artistic attention and meditation. The practical me would have stayed home last night, “resting” for today. I’ve come to realize though that I am not guaranteed any time on this planet and have no idea when the RA might take off on another tangent and leave me in an even worse state than I am currently in. Every day matters. We don’t get them back. There is no “saving” time, and a the rich experience of sitting under fireworks with my parrot boy and my friend leaves a memory that resting does not. Winter will be here soon enough, and there is still summer to be consumed. And relished.
For an art link today, here is the website of a really interesting artist that came to share his art with us yesterday. Nathan Miner is a local artist that merges digital and analog processes in very inventive ways, creating large scale almost seemingly holographic works that appear to transform perspective. Fascinating and dramatic stuff, here. Enjoy!
