I contacted Angell in Boston via email to see about a consultation for Hapi. I just want to know that I am doing everything I can. Carol said that she could consult with them, too, but maybe it’s better for them to see the bird in person. Even just to hear the same things. Keep spraying. Check. Keep reducing stress and giving attention. Check. Keep feeding heart-healthy foods. Check. Keep watching him pick at himself. Check. Keep wondering what else I can be doing. Check.
The Juki machine is at the machine hospital for a few days. I bet a needle broke in there or something, Next, the Pfaff needs a good cleaning and service. There is only 64 hours on that machine, and I’ve had it for ages now. Says a lot! Maybe, just maybe, I can get my sewing groove on a little today.
Finished the David McCullough book about the Wright Brothers. Good story, fast book. Now onto Ruth Ware’s “In a Dark, Dark Wood.” Gripping and engaging! She really knows how to describe the intricate relationships between people and build a story. Really good book so far!
For an art link today, here is a fantastic textile sculptor Karen Suzuki (“Nameless Wonders”) that was recently featured in Embroidery magazine. Just look at these scrappy things! Gorgeous! Of course, the budgie gets me the most. Can’t wait to read the full article and see her process. I am drawn towards experimenting with dimensional work and love the “scrappy” aesthetic of these pieces. Not sure I can bring myself to use glue on anything though! Such a Virgo purist, I am...lol. Cheers!
