Have to print files today! Am excited but also unsure of what to print at this point. There are so many things I’d like to make from these files, but don’t want to get bored with the imagery and have too many prints on my hands. Do I make a few large pieces? How large? Several small ones? I am glad to know Spoonflower is available for future printing, so really I don’t need to do it all today. So what do I choose? I need contact prints of them all to see what’s what. I do know that I also want to print some animal pix on canvas -- A life sized Kizzy sitting in my happy place for my living room wall, pix of the Girls for Anne. Long morning of computer fussing in store. And I want to paint and collage and stitch! Ugh! I need my stitch therapy to combat this RA thang. It’s been a great class, though, and has transformed my thinking as I’d hoped. New art ahead!
For an art link today, here is a needlepoint artist that I can truly relate to this week. Australian artist Michele Hamer makes needlepoint images from daily urban life and incorporates text in succinct and thoughtful ways. LOVE LOVE LOVE this work! Her compositions are energetic and the common cityscape imagery seems to be in conflict with the traditional needlepoint technique. SO clever and well done! I miss needlepoint, too...sigh. I want another me that just stitches all day long. Cheers!
