I haven't been feeling well lately, and while I haven't stopped plugging along on my artwork, forward movement has been slow. My hands could only take about 45 minutes before losing their grip strength due to pain and stiffness. Last night I began taking my skull piece to the next level, though, and feel great about it! I completed the embroidery step and started adding beads to every shape in the design. This time I'm using a variety of beads inside the shapes -- so much fun. Raiding the big bad bead cabinet to find just the right embellishment for each location. What size? Form? Texture? Color? Finish? Beading is easier on the hands than the embroidery step, and I was able to work for two hours last night. It felt great! Not my hands, but in my heart and mind. I need my beadies to feel artistic "flow." I think in beads! A good beading session in which I can see artistic progress does more for my mind than just about anything else. Hoping for another session today before Easter festivities begin.
As I slept late this morning, and let all the birdies out before writing this post, I am keeping this short to address the five parrots and three dogs that are getting into all sorts of troubles as I attempt to write today. Time to feed the farm and get this day going. Happy Easter, everyone!!
What will you make today?
