Coast to Coast AM had on a chiropractor on at 1am who advises The Doctors TV show was well as being a consultant to major news agencies. He spoke of how in order to heal ourselves we need to address the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of our inner selves. He believes 80% of what people think all day long is negative and most often self directed (though even outwardly directed negativity is really self directed, isn't it?) and this contributes to our poor health. He also directed listeners to his website where he sells all sorts of things to enhance our well being, but that is another issue. He said his book links the thoughts of the brain to healing in 21 days. Wouldn't that be something, after almost 15 years!
So, this morning, when my friends were talking online about placing a bead order from the most tempting company ever, instead of bashing my browsing instincts and saying "No, bead-piggy, no!" I looked. And found a few intriguing things. Haven't ordered yet as I need to look at it all again, but I used the anti-self-bullying approach to my benefit. Instead of saying "Amy you shouldn't order beads because you have too many and should be spending any money you do manage to save elsewhere..." I said "What a wonderful world we live in where we can not only have pizza delivered, but can have strands of sparkly things brought to the door from all over the world for literally pennies." Never mind that my home's foundation has a few suspicious cracks in it near the bead cabinet. Never mind that I could open a bead shop myself with what I have under my roof. Never mind that I've felt too crappy lately to get going MAKING my latest piece. Never mind....not sure this is going to work. Will look VERY closely at my list later today when I have my negative, self-shaming perspective back. Ahem. I do need needles and thread, though...so maybe a few strands might be ok. Moderation is difficult in love, parrots, and beads. Find happiness where it lives, I guess!
As a final link so that this post is not all griping and whining, here is a link to a local bead store that I never knew existed -- Beadkreative in Somerville, MA. Like I need another place to visit! Cheers!
