When I crate trained him as a puppy, it wasn't pretty. He howled, barked, yipped, and banged around so much in one he moved it across the floor. Then he settled in. In the morning I found a tired, sad pug covered in mess, which was surprising as most dogs usually do not go the bathroom in their crate. But as we know, Toby is different. I tried different sized crates and it didn't matter. Even in a small crate, Tobes had no problem relieving himself and creating more work for me every morning. There is already enough to do in the morning and cleaning a dog and his crate is not something I want to add to the routine. But, sadly, I might have to. Toby needs a place to go when mommy needs a time out, simply put. And mommy needs a time out from Toby. Badly! My patience with him is at an all time low. Ellie and Til are fine without his instigation, but they will have crates, too. Sigh. Kind of like Assisted Living.
Busy day today as we begin a new session of Embellished Quilted Collage. Seven peeps enrolled, two as "Independent Study" (friends who already know the technique and are coming because they are awesome!) so that is five new people to introduce to the technique. I can't wait to see what happens!! It is always inspiring to see the artists try out this technique and grow art pieces over the course of the class. You never know what will happen! Maybe it is time for me to make a Toby quilt as a sample...and maybe use the photo of him in his training pants. It certainly sums up his personality...!
Didn't have any art time myself yesterday but did manage to clean off my art room work table (sorry, kitties, I know all the fabric piles make a comfy bed, but it was TIME.) Hoping to change that today and this weekend. Have to make time, even if it means staying up later than I normally do. Hours are there, I just have to find them.
What will you make today?
