Busy few days. Went to a great concert on Monday night -- the Good Squeeze! I got tickets last spring and despite not feeling up to it, Tim and I were able to go. On the way there I tripped on the sidewalk and did a very ungraceful faceplant on Stuart St., and now am wearing a sore suit of bruises suitable for Halloween. Thankfully they are hidden under clothes! Add to it the upsetting stress of the current financial situation in our school system with an important override vote yesterday that didn’t pass - the bad squeeze - and my best answer yesterday was to go to bed and stay there. Actually slept a disgraceful number of hours. Hoping for a better day today.
The materials for the Embroidery UK machine embroidery course have arrived! It looks like a long program that will force me to focus on steps of the process I have buzzed through before. Will be good and if approached thoughtfully, I can get a lot out of the experience. Looking forward to getting things started this weekend.
Today is a day of art with fun kids at school who understand the importance of making things. I hope the district and residents agree over the next few months as they deal with the fallout of yesterday’s vote to ensure the art program is not reduced or eliminated at the middle school level. I can’t imagine it. Here’s to hoping.
