Or, maybe, a few lonely survivors took down the photos they'd hung on their walls, packed their little suitcases with their meager belongings, and waddled off to the swamp WHERE THEY BELONG. Amen to the second scenario. I am so done with this!
Today will be fun. I am teaching a workshop on Altered Books at Artist and Craftsman in Saugus. Walk ins are welcome! Looks like a small group because the advertising came out late and stated the class was for children ages 3-10. The thought of X-acto wielding children tearing up books and not appreciating the significance of them is something I can't bear to imagine. While prepping for the class I came across a really fun site with ideas for Altered Books here. Funded by Patreon! I love that site. Looking forward to a fun afternoon and weekend filled with experimentation, art, and fun!
All this in the face of a very sad day in the world because of the Paris attacks. Again, terrorism wins. The sentimental memes flood the Internet as people declare their allegiance to the most recently attacked country. Doesn't change a thing, however. Our governments are so deeply entrenched in Byzantine arrangements with each other, the media, and with financial organizations that we may never know what the truth really is. Such a crazy world. Make art, and make the world a more humane place.
What will you make today?
