Now I know why I don’t take a three plus hour art making break on a Sunday like I did last week...it makes the feeling of chaos in my home that much greater. I made a point of focusing on studio time this week and the house shows it. Calgon, take me away. Busy day ahead. Lists of lists, even. Not even sure the lists help. I id get a lot of art done which feels GREAT. Maybe the answer is to just increase the coverage of my domestic blinders -- to stop seeing what I don’t have time to do while focusing on creative, productive pursuits. Nah, the MSPCA would have to be involved.
Will finally call Angell Memorial Hospital to get Hapi an appointment today. This can not wait any longer. Floors need doing, laundry too. School work and general cleaning up. Ugh. Window screens need changing over to winter glass, and the bedroom cobwebs have evolved into a full fledged ecosystem. Ick. Not to forget Sunday is parrot cage clean up day. A quilt talk will happen on Tuesday in Beverly, too. Have to get organized for that! My body just ain’t ready for this!
And what I really want to do is rest, do some beadwork, and go back to bed. Is this what aging is all about? Yikes!
Had a nice time last night doing something fun and different. My nephew Alex plays in the New England Conservatory’s Youth Orchestra and had a concert at Jordan Hall in Boston. Beautiful venue, and a truly wonderful performance. So many players crammed onto the stage it was amazing! Tim and I popped in, grabbed a quick nibble at a Persian kebab place, then met up with my sister. We left right after the show and were home by ten. Good to know a little excursion like that can offer fresh sights, sounds, and energy to a boring routine and one can still be in bed by eleven!
I am so proud of my nephew for working so hard for his music. He plays viola every day, and has become so good at it! He is part of several music organizations, but the NEC is the best so far. The little devil will be going to play in Norway in the spring! And yet he is a humble kid who doesn’t see this as the be-all-and-end-all of his life. He has a great attitude. Love him to bits! So talented! Ah, the energy of youth.
I need some! Cheers.
