The heat yesterday precluded the tasks that needed to be done, though -- today floors need washing badly. The instant humidity brought out every offensive odor (Toby-related) that is sure to haunt for years to come. And more laundry, And food shopping. And a few other errands. Summer is on the horizon. A mama bird has laid two eggs in my mailbox so far -- I can't wait to see and hear babies!
Took a good trip to Rockport last night with Tim. Feels like another world up there. The air was much cooler and the water was beautiful. Had a nice dinner, tried a new beer that was really good (Fish Brew out of Gloucester -- might have to look for that as a summer selection) and strolled around like tourists for a while. It must be nice to live near the ocean. Tim pointed out "Motif #1" which is fun as one of my students is currently drawing it at school. Saw a beautiful pile of rounded rocks that when photographed look like pebbles, but were really large. Inspiration for abstract work, for sure. Maybe a little painting is in order this summer. At least focused sketchbook work.
In line with sketchbook inspiration, I came across this incredible site on sketchbooks: Sketchbook Skool. The site popped up as a Facebook suggestion and is really inspiring! They offer online classes and many examples that show how powerful and expressive sketchbook work can be. So much of this kind of work is taking focused time to create it...which is tough when there are so many beads calling my name...ah, summer is on the way. Cheers.
