On this figure I see so much embellishment. I LOVE the arms, too -- simple, not in a goofy pose, just arms. Letting the decoration do its thing. Yeah! I might have to channel my ancient Egyptian craftsman(craftswoman?) on this one and see what happens when I put the inspiration to use in fabric.
So cool. Much more interesting than the ushabti figures that were made in the thousands as tomb equipment, coming to life for the deceased in the afterlife. See those here.
I love finding inspiration in very old things...it is like time travel. Connecting our past with the very different world of now. Catching a thread of energy from the people that lived and died so long ago.
