Maybe the heat has broken? It is going to be only 84 degrees today. That’s ten less than the norm for the past week. I hope it makes a noticeable difference as the to-do list is exceptionally long and involves lots of stairs and lugging. Oy. The legs have not taken well to such activities, culminating in a tiredness from hell yesterday that made me feel like a stumbling drunkard for part of the day. I eventually gave in and took a nap. I got some painting done in the morning, though, which was good. Still not loving painting, but trying it out like I am supposed to!
Hapi is happily munching his Harrison’s food. He has a couple patches of new feather barbs that I am praying he leaves alone. I find a few barbs in his bird bath here and there, and w few big feathers, too, but nothing too horrible lately. My vet and I had an unofficial consultation over beer and margaritas last night and decided to give it another couple weeks on the new food to see if part of the puzzle is nutritional before trying more meds and diagnostics. Maybe the food he was on just stopped agreeing with him...oh, Hapi. I wish he could tell me! Ordered more red palm oil and soothing aloe spray today. The fun and Amazon ordering never ends.
Boncuk is on my left shoulder, preening little hairs on the side of my head with more delicate care and attention than you’d ever think possible. He has a job to do, and he is very thorough. My little green pickle. I wonder if the US Mint has received my shredded money? I was mad at the time, but that has turned into a laugh and sincere appreciation for his humor and talents. Almost.
Last night a dream of mine was realized in London. There was a David Bowie Tribute concert at the Royal Albert Hall, as part of the British Proms. I saw a still from it on the BBC website (sadly the content doesn’t load in the US) that was a dream come true -- Amanda Palmer standing next to Marc Almond. Both performed at the concert. Two of my musical and life inspirations singing together. I wish they’d do an album together someday. Just the image gave me chills! If only travel was easier...and more affordable...I’d have been there myself. Sigh. Thankful for You Tube this morning -- Here it is!! Will devour and love it all day today. Cheers!
