Luckily, my neighbor wanted to go out and attend the local pub's first ever trivia night. I agreed to meet her and arrived early to make sure there was a seat. Needle and small art pieces in hand, I decided to multi-task during the two hour event. Upon starting, I realized I'd forgotten scissors. Luckily, I reached my friend in time, asking her to bring along a pair. She was confused, but did bring the needed equipment with her when she came. As we sipped drinks and played the game, I was able to do the embroidery step for six pieces. I then ran out of thread before running out of enthusiasm, and our "team" of three ladies came in second (we won't mention how may teams were actually playing on the restaurant's maiden voyage into Trivialand.)
The moral of the story? Despite feeling like crap on toast for the majority of the day. I met my little creative goal of doing art every day by bringing my art with me to an unconventional place. At first I felt a bit silly stitching at the bar, but soon it became an unconscious behavior and was just fine. Can't say I'd break out a hoop and collection of flosses in a crowded place, but this was fine.
What will you make today?
