Had a great workshop at Artist and Craftsman North on Saturday -- Painted Paper Collage. Eight intrepid participants experimented with the medium, and came up with great results! Really fun, intuitive technique. A paper hurricane blew up on the table tops and miraculously turned into art. Love it! Can't say enough good things about Artist and Craftsman North, too -- lovely people, excellent art supplies -- including a fantastic selection of handmade papers from India. BEAUTIFUL and hard to find elsewhere. Sample packs were on sale so I was able to replenish my stock, too. Woot!
The calendar this week looks blessedly empty. One doctor's appointment on Wednesday and that is it. All. Week. Looking forward to getting to a slew of what I term "onerous tasks" -- those major organizing jobs that never seem to get done- completed. My summer clothes are still out -- though I"ve managed to pile the winter ones on top very skillfully. Time to truly rotate as there is potential snow on deck this week. Ugh. I am trying to add a new tradition to my house, too -- I bought the fixins to make a crockpot of bread pudding later today. Counteracting the uncontrollable arrival of s.n.o.w. with someting warm and yummy. The floors are washed, really washed (I moved the couch and everything!), Prince Tilly is happily living on a newly assembled cozy blanket campsite in the front room, and the week is starting out without oversleeping. What could be better than that? Ummmm....well...I'll take it.
For an art piece today, here is a drawing made Friday by a talented student who captured the classroom Feathered Menace in all his glory...including his bald patch and newly sprouting feathers. I love the look on his face! Enjoy.
